Note on 61-63 Bushings: The 61-62-63 idler arm bushing was underengineered and wore out early. Ford recognized this and kept tinkering with the size until they got it right. This is why there are so many bushings for 61-63. When cars were serviced, sometimes only the bushing was replaced, but sometimes the dealer upgraded the car to the latest design. Therefore, do not rely soley on the build date of your car to order a bushng since your car may have been upgraded many years ago. The only sure way to replace just the bushing and get the right one the first time is to measure the ID and the OD of the old bushing. A better alternative if your car has an early bushing is to order a complete idler arm kit so your car is upgraded to the heavy duty unit. |
